May I have a campfire on the beach?
Fires on the beach are controlled by the state. In general if you are allowed to have campfires in state campgrounds usually campfires on the beaches are allowed.
Have a container to put water in to extinguish your fire.
DO NOT LIGHT A FIRE IN PILES OF DRIFT WOOD OR AROUND THE BEACH GRASS!
You can use the drift wood as firewood, but you cannot light fires in the large piles of drift as they are extremely hard to extinguish.
ALWAYS EXTINGUISH YOUR FIRE PROPERLY BEFORE LEAVING. Do NOT bury your campfire, put it out with water. Fire burried in sand can smolder for days or even weeks. Can you imagine stepping bare foot into someone's burried campfire? OUCH!
